Tag: healing with crystals

Crystals have been used for healing since ancient times by many different cultures.  It is a holistic therapy, which means that the focus is on the individual as a whole, rather than on physical symptoms alone. The aim of this therapy is to restore wholeness, balance and health on levels of emotions, mind and spirit as well as the physical body.

Mankind has used crystals in various ways for centuries.  In our modern world, crystals are used as part of vital components from computers to car engines, lasers to space shuttles.
The properties of crystals derive from their orderliness and the stability of their atomic structure. If subjected to some outside force such as heat, pressure, electricity or light, crystals are able to make minute adjustments to restore their internal stability. It is this quality that makes crystals so important in so many different areas of technology.

The present day interest in crystal healing is a continuation of mankind’s fascination with gemstones and minerals down through the ages. There has been no historical period, nor any culture that has not prized crystals for their visual, magical or healing properties. We ourselves do not exist separate from the mineral kingdom: All life has built up using the raw materials of the planet.  Any mineral or crystal collection reflects what we have in our bodies – from iron crystals in our blood to minerals that crystallise in our bones.  The minerals we take as food supplements and even the fertilisers we use in our fields and gardens are the same materials that exist in the crystal forms we use as decoration or as tools for healing.

HOW TO READ THE CRYSTAL

The Crystal itself is a clear pellucid piece of quartz or beryl, sometimes oval in shape, but more
generally spheroidal. It is accredited by Reichenbach and other researchers with highly magnetic
qualities capable of producing in a suitable subject a state analogous to the ordinary waking
trance of the hypnotists. It is believed that all bodies convey, or are the vehicles of, a certain
universal magnetic property, variously called Od, Odyle, etc., which is regarded as an inert and
passive substance underlying the more active forces familiar to us in kinetic, calorific, and
electrical phenomena. In this respect it bears a position analogous to the Argon of the
atmosphere. It is capable of taking up, sympathetically, the vibrations of those bodies or
elements to which it is temporarily related. But of itself it has no activity, although in its still,
well-like, and calm depths it holds the potentiality of all magnetic forces. This Odyle, then, is
particularly potent in the quartz or beryl, when brought into activity by the intention of the seer.
It produces and retains more readily in that form the various images communicated to it from the
soul of man.
