CRYSTAL HEALING – AN INTRODUCTION

Crystals have been used for healing since ancient times by many different cultures.  It is a holistic therapy, which means that the focus is on the individual as a whole, rather than on physical symptoms alone. The aim of this therapy is to restore wholeness, balance and health on levels of emotions, mind and spirit as well as the physical body.

Mankind has used crystals in various ways for centuries.  In our modern world, crystals are used as part of vital components from computers to car engines, lasers to space shuttles.

The properties of crystals derive from their orderliness and the stability of their atomic structure. If subjected to some outside force such as heat, pressure, electricity or light, crystals are able to make minute adjustments to restore their internal stability. It is this quality that makes crystals so important in so many different areas of technology.

The present day interest in crystal healing is a continuation of mankind’s fascination with gemstones and minerals down through the ages. There has been no historical period, nor any culture that has not prized crystals for their visual, magical or healing properties. We ourselves do not exist separate from the mineral kingdom: All life has built up using the raw materials of the planet.  Any mineral or crystal collection reflects what we have in our bodies – from iron crystals in our blood to minerals that crystallise in our bones.  The minerals we take as food supplements and even the fertilisers we use in our fields and gardens are the same materials that exist in the crystal forms we use as decoration or as tools for healing.

When a body is unwell or diseased it is usually because the natural balance or rhythm has been lost.  Using crystals with their perfect atomic structure offers patterns for the body to follow to help self-healing. The very nature of crystals increases the levels of harmony in the immediate environment.

A BRIEF HISTORY
The earliest records of crystal healing come from ancient Egypt. The Ebers papyrus of about 1550 BC is among the most important ancient Egyptian medical papyri and details the medicinal uses of many different gems. Healing with crystals is also recorded in India’s Ayurvedic records and in traditional Chinese medicine from around five thousand years ago. Several shamanistic cultures practice crystal healing, including the Inuit people of Canada.

The ancient Atlanteans are believed to have developed an advanced healing system using colour and crystals and, according to legend, built circular temples with individual healing rooms. The ceiling of the temple would have been domed and made of crystals that transformed the light shining through into patterns of colour and vibrations.  When a person entered an individual room, a crystal door closed behind them and was then energized to the frequency of colour required to heal the specific illness or imbalance. (Frank Alpen, Exploring Atlantis)

Crystals are pure solarised sunlight that take millions of years to form. Each has its own resonance or vibration. Today we are learning to use crystals (precious or semi-precious stones) as a preventative and curative form of treatment that generate healing vibrations, acting on the body’s energy field.  Crystals can be used to channel healing energies through the healer to the patient or can be placed on specific parts of the body that need treatment.
Crystals are here to teach and serve us, but their energy lies dormant until we awaken their elemental consciousness with unconditional love. The mineral, plant and most of the animal kingdom, are bound by group consciousness.  The elementals need to be directed and therefore a crystal or gemstone needs to be programmed to serve.  We shall learn how to do this later in this course.
It is only in some higher animals and man that we assert individual consciousness. This individual consciousness is brought about by our ego which binds us to this three dimensional world. The ego brings with it a separation from our intuition and higher self. We are very seldom aware of our true inner self, which links us to all other life forms. This disconnection causes most of our problems. We disregard the intuitive self as being illogical and unimportant for our daily routines and activities. We therefore suppress the expressions of our higher self and override them with thoughts of logic and reasoning.
The intuitive self has capabilities to forewarn, foretell and guide us and is typified by expression of selfless love, compassion and joy. Crystals can help us liberate those areas of the mind which we are not consciously aware of and help us to balance the subconscious (higher or intuitive self) and conscious mind.
As we strive for self-knowledge our level of consciousness increases. We are both matter and spirit and once we can understand this connection we shall become whole and healthy. We need to get in touch with our higher and spiritual self in order to connect to crystals and awaken their healing powers. The crystals themselves can help us to do this.
Like all the kingdoms on earth, the mineral kingdom is in a state of evolution. The state of evolution of a stone is shown by its luminosity. Dull stones are less evolved, while clear luminous stones such as crystals and diamonds are highly evolved. Each stone is tuned in to a particular ray and has a particular function and purpose to serve.

logoredone(2)Traning as a holistic practitioner

You may wonder why people need to train to become a holistic practitioner and that it should come naturally. Although to a lot of people it does, we all have latent hidden talents that with the help of a good tutor can bring it out into the open. Also confidence plays a big part when becoming a professional practitioner and knowing that what you are doing has been accredited by people who have been specialising in the subject you choose to learn can offer you untold support and confidence.

At Study Holistics all our courses have been approved and accredited so you can be sure that what you study will have some firm and valid foundation and be recoginised within the holistic field. We find that a lot of our students tend to study more than one therapy. The reason for this is that the majority of holistic therapies compliment the others. For example if you have studies reiki then you will find that learning about crystals, colour and angel therapy will increase your skill and healing ability. You then become not just a reiki healer but a practitioner who can evoke healing on a much higher level and this can only benefit your clients.

If  during your studies you have any questions you will have your very own tutor whom you can contact anytime.

Your course material will ususally consist of 3 parts. After each part you will find there is a learning review.  This helps greatly to consolodate your experience. You will also be requested at the end of the course to par-take in a Case Study. A case study basically means that you practice the therapy you have just learned on a friend or relative and then write up the experience. This again will let you see at first hand how holistic healing really does work. After your case study you will then submit your exam.  Our examination dept will then mark your exam and if they feel that you have not quite understood some aspects of the course, will gently put you back on track.  We do find however that most students having read through the learning reviews and offered up a case study find the exam part of the course very easy.

On completion of your exam you will then be awarded a certificate or diploma. This will be stamped with the official iphm accredtiation board and you will then be able to practice your therapy knowing that you are ready and prepared as a professional holistic practitioner.

Please feel free to contact us anytime to discuss your course materail. You have the option of having it sent via email within a few hours of ordering, or you can request your course material is sent on Cd Rom.  Payment can be made vial bank transfer/credit/debit or Paypal.  If you want to spread the cost you may purchase your course in parts, however you will find our course materail very competatively priced.

As a tarot reader I have been asked that question a lot, and most clients are rather surprised when I explain to them what actually happens during a tarot reading. To avoid disappointment right from the start I inform them that I am only here to translate the cards on their behalf. I do not determine nor do the cards determine what your future will bring. That really is up to you. You are always in control of your own destiny. Now that can sometimes not be the answer a client wants to hear. After all to them they are paying you good money and they want value for money, even if that means telling them that yes they are going to meet their hearts desire, they will live a long and healthy life and never have anymore problems from now on…. well I think we can all agree that that is just a lot of tosh… and no wonder tarot readers get a lot of ridicule and stick if this is the sort of readings they are giving.

tarot photo

As a professional Tarot reader it is important to not lead the client on, but to point out with clarity and hope that they always have choices that they can make and your job as  a reader is to guide them not push, not drag, not pull, simply guide.

To do this you need to have a good understanding of the meanings of each card and also a number of spreads up your sleeve. After all you never know what the client is going to ask you so the more spreads you know the easier for you to read when that unexpected or complicated question arises.

Asking the Tarot a Question – This varies from reader to reader, but I personally always inform my clients that I am not a mind reader and if they want a question answering then it is up to them to tell me what the question is by being as specific as possible. Now there are two reasons for this… a) quite often they want to know 5 questions at once, quite difficult as a reader to do, so I prefer to answer one at a time to save confusion and b) they really sometimes don’t know how to ask a simple question, so it is up to you as a reader to guide them in the best way to ask.

When answering questions always keep in mind that the client will take what  you say quite literally and you must be careful how you word your replies. Your client must never ever leave unhappy with the reading, even if the cards look a bit grim, you must point out that everything changes even bad times and that for a wonderful future they must work on the lessons that the cards will be showing them.

If you want to learn how to become a professional tarot reader then our course will not only teach you how to read the cards, but how to use different spreads, how to set up business as a reader, what to charge, what to do when your reading does not seem to flow etc…. this course is invaluable for beginners or even if you have been reading the cards for sometime but would like to gain an accredited qualification that will offer your clients confidence in your readings. The course is in 3 parts and will teach you everything you need to know to become not just a reader but a professional and effectual reader so that you will have a regular clientele list coming back time and time again. You need not have any experience in reading cards to learn to become a reader, however you will need to purchase a full set of cards as this course does not just deal with the 22 major arcana but the whole pack to give your readings more depth.

CPR FOR ADULTSfirstaidcross

The following gives the actions that you should take to deal with a CPR in an adult:

1.    If you are alone with the person, SHOUT for help rather leaving them on their own and start the resuscitation immediately.
2.    Place the heel of your hand in the centre of their chest, and place the other hand on top and interlock the fingers.

Compressions
3.    Keep your arms straight and your fingers off the chest; press down approximately 4-5cms – then release the pressure, keeping your hands in place.
4.    Repeat the compressions 30 times, at a rate of 100 per minute.

Rescue Breaths
1.    Ensure that their airway is open and pinch nose firmly closed.
2.    Take a deep breath and seal your lips around the person’s mouth.
3.    Blow into the mouth until the chest rises.
4.    Remove your mouth and allow the chest to fall and repeat once more.
5.    Continue resuscitation, 30 compressions to 2 Rescue Breaths.
6.    If there is blood in and around the mouth or it is difficult to breathe into their mouth, then you can place your mouth around their nose.
7.    Continue with CPR until either the emergency services arrive or if you become too exhausted that you cannot continue (you could continue with compressions only until you catch your breath).  It is always a good idea to check whether there is anyone else that can take over – this can be done every 2 minutes with minimum disruptions.
8.    Once they start to breathe normally then you can leave them – if you have been unable to get someone to call for the emergency services, then this would be the appropriate time to do so.

CPR FOR CHILDREN (1 YEAR TO PUBERTY)
These are similar actions as with an adult – first thing is to get someone to call for an ambulance: If alone then carry out CPR for 2 minutes before calling for an ambulance, then:

Rescue Breaths
1.    Ensure the airway is open.
2.    Seal your lips around the child’s mouth while pinching the nose.
3.    Blow gently into the lungs, looking along the chest as you breathe.
4.    Take shallow breaths and do not empty your lungs completely.
5.    As the chest rises, stop blowing and allow it to fall.
6.    Repeat 4 or more times then check for circulation.
7.    Give 30 chest compressions

Compressions
1.    Place 1 or 2 hands in the centre of the chest (depending upon the size of the child).
2.    Use the heel of that hand with arms straight and press down to a third of the depth of the chest.
3.    Press 30 times, at a rate of 100 compressions per minute.
4.    After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths.
5.    Continue resuscitation (30 compressions to 2 rescue breaths) without stopping until the emergency services arrive.
6.    If you are alone, carry out rescue breaths and chest compressions for 2 minutes before leaving the child to call the emergency services.

CPR FOR BABIES (BIRTH TO 1 YEAR)

CPR for babies is similar to the procedures used on young children; however you are able to place your mouth over the baby’s nose and mouth.

1.    Your breath MUST be gentler as you fill your cheeks with air rather than breathing from your lungs. As the chest rises, stop blowing and allow it to fall.
2.    Repeat this 5 times. Then give 30 chest compressions by placing the baby on a firm surface.
3.    Use 2 fingers in the centre of the chest and press down sharply to about a third of the depth of the chest. Gently press 30 times, at a rate of 100 compressions per minute.
4.    After 30 compressions, give 2 Rescue Breaths.
5.    Continue resuscitation (30 compressions to 2 rescue breath) without stopping until help arrives.
6.    If you are alone, carry out rescue breaths and chest compressions for 2 minutes before taking the infant with you to call an ambulance.
7.    If you are familiar with adult CPR and have no knowledge of infant CPR, use the adult sequence using 2 fingers for compression.

There are people who develop a degree of mediumship after an operation, illness or accident which affects the glands of the body. Natural psychics are those men and women who develop their powers as the natural outcome of the glandular changes at the age of puberty and middle-age, but it is invariably noticeable that they each have a guardian who is responsible for the further unfolding andsteadying of their powers of registration.  In the case of the medium who is fully awake to the supernal vibrations the aura betrays and extra vortex of activity in the region of the forehead, almost as if an extra auxiliary aura is active in the region of the pituitary and pineal glands.ghosts

There are many misconceptions concerning the power of the supernatural world over the mediums of this world,
but in each and every case psyhcic phenomena are either projected through the aura or produced in conjunction
with the emanations of the aura. Thus in trance mediumship, as it is invariably called, the spirit entities are able to paralyse the functions of the worldly intellect and superimpose over it their own ideas, mannerisms andpersonalities in such a way that we see: not the medium, but another personality speaking with the mediums voice and moving the mediums limbs. A medium can be used in this way for the transmission either of teaching, writing, painting, inspiration or proof of continued identity after death.

Many and wonderful are the manifestations that can be produced, but we must not expect impossibilities. We have to realize that the supernal world is different, in a vibratory sense to this world, and if we want signs of the presence ofdiscarnate beings we must be willing to co-operate by developing the better side of our nature, from which Will spring a sensitive aura that will encourage , not repel, the loved ones who wait to guide and guard us. Similarly we must not expect impossibilities of our mediums when we go to them for help, for our aura will aid the manifestations, or mar them. The aura ofthe medium is super-sensitive, not only to the vibrations of the supernatural world, but also to those of this world. If we go to see a medium who is known to be in touch with the “other side” and we come away disappointed, we should invariably blame ourselves for the disappointment. It is we who have failed, and not the medium, nor the spirit world.

Indian head massage is a trademarked term for an alternative medicine massage therapy. The head, neck and face are massaged with the purpose of manipulating energy channels. The goal is to clear blocks in these energy channels that cause a build-up of negative energy that are purported to cause ailments. The belief is when the energy does not flow properly, negative energy builds up, causing common ailments, including stress, pain and aches, and baldness or hair loss. Indian head massage is practiced all over Europe and was brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970′s.

Effects of massage on the skin

Massage enhances the skin condition by improving the function of the sebaceous and sweat glands, which keep the skin lubricated, clean, and cool.  Massage helps you have healthy skin.  Massage is exercise for your skin. It works to skin improve blood circulation and relieve stress.  With age blood circulation diminishes. When blood circulation is improved with massage, sufficient oxygen and nutrients are transported to create a healthy epidermis and dermis. When it is remembered that the skin is an organ of respiration as well as perspiration, its increased activity must be regarded as one of the most valuable effects of massage.  It is also noticeable that massage of the skin increases its power to automatically react and so gives it increased ability to defend itself against changes in temperature, weather changes, etc.

Effects of massage on the skeleton.

Massage is capable of influencing such hard structures as the bones, ligaments, and cartilages.  A bone has essentially the same blood supply as its overlying muscles. It is for this reason that the same exercise, which causes increase in the size of a muscle, at the same time, encourages growth in the bone to which the muscle is attached. The bones and joints of people who are addicted to exercise are decidedly larger than those of people who do not use their muscles in excessive exercise. This is especially noticeable in comparing the large, strong hand and knotty knuckles of the man who performs hard labour everyday with the frail and straight, slender fingers of the man who works in an office.  It is known that the red matter of the bones is the blood forming tissue of the body. This gives a new importance to massage, since the acceleration of the circulation of blood through the muscles must improve the nutrition of the bones as well as of the muscles, consequently the blood-making processes are influenced both as regards the quantity of the blood produced and its quality.

Effects of massage on muscles

The blood supply to the muscle is increased during massage bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients and removing waste products such as lactic acid, so massage can help alleviate muscle fatigue.  The muscle is warmed because of the increased blood flow and, because warm muscles contract more efficiently that when cold, the likelihood of injury is reduced.  Massage helps to relieve pain, stiffness and fatigue in muscles as the waste products are removed and normal functioning is quickly restored.  The increased oxygen and nutrients aid tissue repair and recovery of the muscle.
Massage can help the breakdown of fibrositic nodules, also called knots, which develop in a muscle because of tension, injury or poor posture.  They are most commonly found in the shoulder area.  Massage helps to increase the tone of the muscles and delays any wasting away of muscles through lack of use.

Effects of massage on the hair

When massage is repeated on a regular basis, it will help to actually strengthen the roots of the hair, which will help hair growth.  Moisturized hair is less likely to split and break, which is a wonderful benefit.  Massage adds natural lustre and shine to the hair.  Regular massage can help protect hair from environmental toxins and other weather conditions by helping to strengthen the follicles.  In some cases, massage can slow hair loss conditions.  It can be combined with deep breathing for even deeper results.  In some cases, regular massage with appropriate essential oils can help to slow the onset of white or grey strands.
