The healers, who have been able to cure diseased of the physical body by working through the aura, are apt to regard the disease ascaused by the auric vibration , instead of the auric field registering disease, as the outcome of something in the physical make-up. By healers, I mean all those people who have come to admit the reality of the aura, both by observation and experimentation.

It would appear that the aura gives a true picture of every element which is in the human organism. If the food, as it is assimilated into thevarious centres, radiates its particular magnetic power into the aura, correspondingly a lack of certain substances will betray a weakening of this same aura, so that a person suffering from nervous debility will show an aura pale in colouring and tinged with grey. A cancerous person betrays an excess of vibration in theregion of the cancer, since the growth itself is composed of organic matter which has its own individual field of vibration. The ills of man are too numerous to mention and the cures for the ills of man are almost as numerous. Which of the cures are the best? We can only think that the cure which gives the best and the most lasting result is the best cure. We should become like the Chinese, and keep our healers for the prevention of our ailments, not for the cure of them.

In the future, I do not doubt but that there will be clinics in every town where the aura can be periodically examined for traces of disease, and instead of diagnosing by following the dim pathways of half remembered pains, which may indicate a twinge of rheumatism, a cancer, or a muscle over-exerted, the healers willdefinitely be able to read the history of each person, as a doctor reads a hospital chart , and act accordingly. In such clinics, disease will be treated before it has time to become a chronic condition. Thousands of pounds will then be available for the education, housing and uplifting of peoples minds instead of being used to maintain homes for the incurable, clinics for half-incurables, and hospitals for the sick and neglected bodies of ignorant humanity.

In these present years the surgeon’s knife is a necessity, because disease has invariably been allowed to progress to a pitch when no other means can adequately deal with it, but we cannot believe that the Maker endowed us with organs so securely protectedby-layers of skin, muscle and bone if it was also intended that the same flesh should be opened for the treatment of disease.

At present, the herbalist appears to be the person who most satisfactorily approaches the ideal of the perfect healer, since his herbs, each with their own individual magnetic vibration, become assimilated into the human body and supply to it certain substances which maybe lacking.herbalcures_ebook

The intensity with which such people can love when the emotions are transmuted to a higher centre, such as the heart, may in time transform them from sinners into saints; for upon our capacity to love depends our own spiritual advancement. We might say, too, that upon our capacity to love depends the salvation of all humankind, for it is the law that real love must of necessity draw a response from the persons loved, and they in turn will love,  becoming also miniature saviours of humankind.

love and auras

love and auras

The saints of this world, what of them? The saints who dwell in little slum apartments; the saints of cottages with small backyards and enormous families of children, some of which have been adopted from even less fortunate circumstances? The saints who spend their lives scrubbing, cooking, praying, nursing the young and the old; loving everybody indiscriminately, what of them?

I wish you could catch just one glimpse of such an aura, in which all the colours seem to vibrate from the centre of the heart. The red of the passions has been lifted up and changed to flashing shades of azure and sapphire, which interpenetrate what is left of the passional nature, so that it appears mauve, and the colour of the intellect, which plans and thinks for others, is charged with these same shades of blue, so that it appears sometimes as blue, sometimeseau-de -nil, sometimes lemon. The glory of such colourings, when perceived in surroundings bereft of beauty and surrounding a person who may be utterly illiterate, makes one feel veryhumble, for here is a literal example of how the glory of God is attained by merit only and not be wealth, position or knowledge.

Then there are the saints of another world. The saints who give their lives to teach the ignorant; to heal the sick; who grow weary in the service of humanity and who ask no reward except that the mystical grace of God illumine their lives. These people develop an aurawherein the heart and the head centres become equally active. Such persons have studies and attained knowledge to fit them for their tasks, therefore the intellect radiates a glorious glow of yellow which changes to white during moments of extreme exaltation, and lemon or blue in moments of love. Most of the passional nature becomes concentrated into the region of the heart, which vibrates beautiful tones of mauve, purple or blue according to the mood. Auras such as this can only belong to the lovers of humanity, not merely those who serve because they have been trained fro a vocation.

Needless to say, every aura differs from another, for one man will love more than another who thinks, and he who thinks may at times love very greatly. It is aurassuch as these that may eventually expand into the glorious mother-of-pearl of the illumined mahatma, saint or teacher, who will leave such a mark on thehistory of the world that even the sands of time will have difficulty in effacing it.

With such souls a mysterious moment is attained in which another centre, situated in the top of the head, becomes active and its radiation touches the faint, silvery shell of the casual body, which immediately penetrates the ordinary aura, flooding it with silvery radiance, so that the colours there become luminous with new light and new beauty. The saint becomes not a saint of this world, but a saint of the heavenly worldand is or her work, thenceforth, is a work supernal. His or her sojourn in this world is a sojourn of outstanding beauty. It is the attainment not only of purified consciousness, but of a super-consciousness, and such a person remains for ever a super man/woman.

In part 14 I shall discuss Disease and the Aura.

Indian head massage is a trademarked term for an alternative medicine massage therapy. The head, neck and face are massaged with the purpose of manipulating energy channels. The goal is to clear blocks in these energy channels that cause a build-up of negative energy that are purported to cause ailments. The belief is when the energy does not flow properly, negative energy builds up, causing common ailments, including stress, pain and aches, and baldness or hair loss. Indian head massage is practiced all over Europe and was brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970’s.

Effects of massage on the skin

Massage enhances the skin condition by improving the function of the sebaceous and sweat glands, which keep the skin lubricated, clean, and cool.  Massage helps you have healthy skin.  Massage is exercise for your skin. It works to skin improve blood circulation and relieve stress.  With age blood circulation diminishes. When blood circulation is improved with massage, sufficient oxygen and nutrients are transported to create a healthy epidermis and dermis. When it is remembered that the skin is an organ of respiration as well as perspiration, its increased activity must be regarded as one of the most valuable effects of massage.  It is also noticeable that massage of the skin increases its power to automatically react and so gives it increased ability to defend itself against changes in temperature, weather changes, etc.

Effects of massage on the skeleton.

Massage is capable of influencing such hard structures as the bones, ligaments, and cartilages.  A bone has essentially the same blood supply as its overlying muscles. It is for this reason that the same exercise, which causes increase in the size of a muscle, at the same time, encourages growth in the bone to which the muscle is attached. The bones and joints of people who are addicted to exercise are decidedly larger than those of people who do not use their muscles in excessive exercise. This is especially noticeable in comparing the large, strong hand and knotty knuckles of the man who performs hard labour everyday with the frail and straight, slender fingers of the man who works in an office.  It is known that the red matter of the bones is the blood forming tissue of the body. This gives a new importance to massage, since the acceleration of the circulation of blood through the muscles must improve the nutrition of the bones as well as of the muscles, consequently the blood-making processes are influenced both as regards the quantity of the blood produced and its quality.

Effects of massage on muscles

The blood supply to the muscle is increased during massage bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients and removing waste products such as lactic acid, so massage can help alleviate muscle fatigue.  The muscle is warmed because of the increased blood flow and, because warm muscles contract more efficiently that when cold, the likelihood of injury is reduced.  Massage helps to relieve pain, stiffness and fatigue in muscles as the waste products are removed and normal functioning is quickly restored.  The increased oxygen and nutrients aid tissue repair and recovery of the muscle.
Massage can help the breakdown of fibrositic nodules, also called knots, which develop in a muscle because of tension, injury or poor posture.  They are most commonly found in the shoulder area.  Massage helps to increase the tone of the muscles and delays any wasting away of muscles through lack of use.

Effects of massage on the hair

When massage is repeated on a regular basis, it will help to actually strengthen the roots of the hair, which will help hair growth.  Moisturized hair is less likely to split and break, which is a wonderful benefit.  Massage adds natural lustre and shine to the hair.  Regular massage can help protect hair from environmental toxins and other weather conditions by helping to strengthen the follicles.  In some cases, massage can slow hair loss conditions.  It can be combined with deep breathing for even deeper results.  In some cases, regular massage with appropriate essential oils can help to slow the onset of white or grey strands.

COLOUR MEDITATION
Colour can be used to focus and still the mind for meditation. The Tibetans used a Mandela, a pattern of harmonious shapes, symbols and colours, on which one can contemplate. Crystals can also be used for meditation and placing a clear quartz crystal over a filter on a light box produces a beautiful relaxing light. Meditation is a wonderful tool for stilling the restless mind, concerned with our daily activities, and gives us the opportunity of looking and listening to our higher mind. We all have inner wisdom and all the knowledge we need for our time on earth but we rarely communicate with our inner soul which will guide and protect us in all that we need to know and do. The following meditation is wonderful to do each morning, connecting you to all the coloured rays. You can, of course, develop your own meditations concentrating on a single or on several colours.
Work with visualisations in colour when you wish to relax: visualise a peaceful scene, perhaps walking through the woods by a stream in as much colour detail as possible. Visualise the colours of the sunrise and sunset: practising visualising in colour helps to strengthen your subconscious attunement to colour.
You can also inhale each colour in turn, starting with red. Fill your diaphragm with air while focusing on the colour and slowly exhale, sending the colour throughout your body. Breathe in each colour three or four times, resting in between colours to note how the colour affects you.
RAINBOW MEDITATION
Imagine yourself totally surrounded by white light. Breathe this light into every cell and tissue in your body, until you become one with the light.
Next you see waves of colour coming up from the earth. At first you experience a wave of brilliant red, the colour of blood, rising through your feet and legs entering into your base chakra. Feel it warming you as it rises to the sacral centre. It now becomes orange, the colour of the sun at sunset. You start to feel more relaxed and your breathing becomes free and easy. As the wave of colour rises into your solar-plexus you feel it empowering you and radiating from your centre. You now feel the lower three chakras connected and receiving energy from the earth.
Now focus on the heart and draw in the beautiful green of creativity and growth. You are reminded that you are connected to all living things, the plants and trees, animals, your family and all mankind. Your heart goes out to all these things and you feel a great love for the earth itself. You feel harmony, tranquillity and peace. You can relax and trust in the process of life.
As you draw your attention up to the throat centre you look at the sky, feeling the cleansing blue rays entering your throat, purifying your words. It reminds you of the vastness of the spirit and sky. The blue starts to darken and becomes the indigo ray which enters your sixth chakra, or third eye. This gives you the ability to see inner truth. It is the colour of high ideals and wisdom. Finally the violet ray pours down, entering your crown chakra and connecting you to the universe. You feel both connected to the sky and the earth. You are of spirit and body. Through this realisation you undergo transformation for this is the gate to enlightenment.

meditating
The unique properties of the cosmic coloured rays are your keys to knowledge and wisdom. By understanding the powers which surround you, you are also able to understand the powers within you.
Slowly let the violet fade and a great feeling of peace and tranquillity descends over you. When you are ready, slowly move your toes and fingers and open your eyes.
These meditations, practiced on a regular basis, will gradually bring awareness to your physical and etheric state, bringing a sense of wholeness, wellness and balance to your whole being.

The word Reiki means free passage of Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki is a Japanese word, represented by the characters below. In the Chinese character system, Reiki is Leiki. Both Reiki and Leiki originate in Tibet. Pronounced Ray key. The symbol is Japanese “kanji” or character for the word “Reiki”.

The syllable rei in Japanese means spirit, ghost and soul. In Chinese, the syllable lei, means subtle influences, the force, ethereal and supernatural power. Rei can be interpreted as “free passage”.

The syllable Ki means life force energy (as in Aikido). In Chinese, life force energy is called chi, in India, prana. There are many names for life force energy; each culture has its own.

The History Of Reiki

Reiki, originating from the words, raku-kei, is the art and science of spiritual self-improvement.

Reiki originated in ancient Tibet thousands of years ago. The Reiki calligraphy, in Sanskrit, was used in meditation in Tibetan monasteries. Reiki symbols were painted upon large wall hangings in the monasteries and acted as the centre focus in the practices toward enlightenment by Tibetan holy men.

A Tibetan Lama would sit on a four-legged wooden stool in the centre of an oval earthenware container (to represent the etheric egg) filled with three inches of water.

The stool was made of wood with pure silver inlay going up a channel in each of the stools legs, connecting a silver plate inlay upon the stools’ seat. On the silver plate, inlaid in amethyst and rubies, was the Master Frequency Symbol. In front of the stool was a mirror of polished copper. Behind the stool hung a tapestry containing the Lamas’ prayer and the Reiki symbols.

The symbols were reflected in the copper wall, and meditated upon by the Lama as he sat on the stool. The Tibetan Lama concentrated on the Reiki symbols to implant them deep into his subconscious, thereby purifying the body/mind, raising consciousness, and increasing awareness.

Dr. Mikao Usui – 1865 –1926

 Dr usui

What is now called Reiki was re-discovered in the 1870’s by Dr. Mikao Usui.

As the story goes, his students asked Dr. Usui, the president of a small Christian university in Japan, “How did Christ heal?” This question led Dr. Usui to resign from his University position and begin a ten-year search for the answer.

His quest led him to many parts of the world to study in many different languages, and finally to the original Sanskrit Buddhist Sutras, where he found ancient symbols that he believed to be the formula for healing.

At this point, Dr Usui felt he had the keys to healing, but did not know how to awaken his healing power. He decided to go to a mountain and meditate for 21 days, to seek the power to heal. On the final day, Dr Usui saw a beam of light rushing toward him, the light struck him in the middle of his forehead and at that moment he saw the Reiki symbols and felt them enter his mind and memory.

Dr Usui spent the rest of his life sharing Reiki. Before his death, Dr. Usui passed the keys of Reiki over to his close associate, Dr Chijiro Hayashi, who ran a Reiki clinic in the early 1900’s in Japan.
Hawayo Takata- 1900 –1980

Mrs. Hayayo Takata who was born on the island of Hawaii in 1900 and lived in the Hawaiian Islands until 1970 brought Reiki to Hawaii in 1934.

Hawayo_Takata

In March 1917 she married Saichi Takata, the book- keeper of the plantation where she was employed. They had two daughters together before he died aged 34 in Tokyo where he had gone for lung cancer treatment.

After this Takata worked hard to support her family on her own and this contributed to her suffering from lung problems, a variety of serious gastrointestinal ailments and severe depression actually leading to a nervous breakdown. In her mid-thirties, with Mrs Takata widowed and very ill, she travelled to Japan to seek treatment.  She was diagnosed with several life threatening conditions including gallstones, and a tumour. She was given some weeks to recuperate from emphysema before being admitted for surgery for appendicitis and other gastrointestinal problems. On the operating table, just before the surgery was to begin she heard a voice. The voice said, “The operation is not necessary. The operation is not necessary”. She had never heard a voice speak to her like this before. She wondered what it meant. The voice repeated the message a 3rd time even louder.

She knew she was wide-awake and had not imagined the voice. It was so unusual, yet so compelling that she decided to ask the doctor. She got off the operating table, wrapped a sheet around herself and asked to speak to the doctor. She asked the chief surgeon about non-surgical alternatives and was given the address of the clinic near the emperor’s palace run by Dr. Chujiro.

While she was there, she was guided to Dr. Hayashi’s clinic and was healed with Reiki.  She received daily treatments and got progressively better. In four months, she was completely healed. Impressed with the results she wanted to learn Reiki. She studied Reiki for a year in Japan and later was made a Reiki Master (one who can fine tune or empower others with Reiki energy). Mrs Takata spent the rest of her life sharing Reiki with others and in 1970 she moved to California and began to train other masters, until her death in 1980
